Haven of Rest (www.havenofrest.org.za), is an NPO that has a primary objective to fulfil its role in society by reaching out to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the community. A beacon of hope to the homeless, destitute and the down trodden of society, this non-profit organisation renders essential services to all people irrespective of race, colour, creed or religion.
The organisation was founded in 2000 by visionaries Ronnie & Shirley Naidoo, who were inspired to establish an institution that would cater for the social development, enhancement and welfare of the community. The existing premises which was previously the Tongaat Hulett Group Hospital, was transformed into a social welfare organization that has been successfully running for 20 years, impacting many lives in and around the community.
The Haven of Rest is currently home to 120 residents and through the support and endorsement of volunteers, caregivers, sponsors, civil society, religious bodies, community members and partners we are able to render/provide the following services and facilities respectively
